Volleyball

I have been playing volleyball since 7th grade. However, this was the first year that I did not play, all because of the terrible experience that I had with the coach. When seven out of eight girls don't return for their senior year, it should be obvious that there is a problem. Last night, I decided to go watch a game for the firt time. This was a lot harder for me than I ever thought it would be. It was especially strange for me to watch the team warming up. I had never been a part of the crowd before, and i felt like I should have been on the floor getting ready for the game with the team. One thing that did make it easier, however, was the fact that all of us who madethe very difficult decision to leave the team were all there together. One thing that I would like to comment on, though, it the fact that our school is blaming the female athletes for the fact that the sports programs are going downhill. If only the AD would take the time to listen to us, and not be so niave to the fact that the coach is making us uncomfortable and taking his anger management issues out on us, we would have a lot stronger program than we do now. Volleyball is something that i love to play, but it simply isn't worth it to me, or to the other seniors, to be put through the terrible experience of last year once again.

Obviously I cannot speak to all that you discuss here, but I thank you for having the respect to write about it in an adult manner.
